NCA Colorectal Pathway Board (NCCPB)
Colorectal Pathway Board
The NCA Colorectal Cancer Pathway Board provides a collaborative forum for strategic focus and vision for colorectal cancer services throughout the North of Scotland Health Boards.
Colorectal cancer services in the North of Scotland
Colorectal cancer is the second-most common cancer type in Scotland. Each year, approximately 1,000 people are diagnosed with Colorectal cancer in the North.
Cancer services are delivered from our three cancer services in Aberdeen, Dundee and Inverness. Patients from NHS Shetland and NHS Orkney may receive their care through NHS Grampian, while NHS Highland look after patients from the Western Isles.
The aim of this Pathway Board is to facilitate regional working between the centres, ensuring a focus on improving patient outcomes.
For more information on the symptoms, investigation and treatment of Colorectal cancer, please visit the NHS Inform website.
In Scotland, a bowel screening programme has been rolled out and you can find out more about this on the NHS Inform Website - Bowel Screening.
