The North of Scotland Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Network provides services across 5 health board boundaries in the North of Scotland. The network provides a mixture of cross board and locally based services, in the provision of person-centred, safe, effective, equitable care. The National Delivery Plan (2008-2011) enabled the formalisation of the network. Funding was utilised to appoint a mixture of consultant, nursing, psychology, pharmacy and specialist dietetic staff.
Locally based teams provide secondary care, with tertiary support provided on a weekly basis in Dundee and Aberdeen and monthly support in Inverness.
Staff within the network have access to a wide range of training opportunities, designed to support the development and sustainability of the network.
